Goblin prog from Lachlan Creagh on Vimeo.

Doh before breakfast

Watercolour before breakfast-
this time the shot of it where it had potential,
then the after where I'd stuffed it up because I didn't have a clear idea in mind.....

Need to be free enough for stuff to happen
because thats watercolour-
but not mentally out to lunch

ah well

In other news still pottering on that goblin throw anim after doing my daily eco anims.

Getting ideas out

goblin_throw_wip from Lachlan Creagh on Vimeo.

Another idea in progress ...trying out blocking timing in storyboard pro then starting to do lines for those keys in Toon boom- ultimately then breakdowns and inbetweens too...

Watercolour before breakfast 2

Did a little more....
funny how watercolour seems to be a constant state of trying to fix what you did before or what you've  just done.

Watercolour before breakfast

fetch_progress from Lachlan Creagh on Vimeo.

And a bit of progress on goblin fetch scene for lunch.
Realised I should have sorted rough/loose  version completely before tying down any details...
all good practice though.

Goblin Walk

goblin_swayin' from Lachlan Creagh on Vimeo.

Little rough test walk...
Have to say I really love doing the rough anims in Toon Boom- the combination  of the vector strokes and the transform tool with the on-thefly-pivot means- if you do your drawings in a constuctional way- its easy to tweak/rotate limbs without necessarily redrawing- and rescale things if you've drifted too big.

Rough turns

rough_half_turn1 from Lachlan Creagh on Vimeo.

A start on doing character for trying out in toon boom- get  the turns,
Will try to add rough mouth shapes for the turns and do cleaner rough hand feet shapes.
then clean up and chop up I guess
...then rig up.

Subway test from Lachlan Creagh on Vimeo.

A potential ad appeared potentially and disappeared just as quick-
but coincided with me finishing Over is Out (pretty much) and starting to get back onto the 2d animation learning thing
So a few little tests and muck arounds.....

Keep stopping to try and earn money to live off...
and keep having to stop working on it

Drip dry

Dolphin fish based sentient fish.

Are dolphin fish mahi mahi?

If they are I'll never eat another- they're so beautifully marked.

Anyway this one appears to be drip drying his hands

Late scratchings

Dear void

(And all you german bots or spiders or scammers that seem to be the only things visiting this blog- fuck you)

Fish girl

Another bit of symmetry fun...
actually testing out sketchbook on this Cintiq mobile studio to see if its a goer...
looks like it is.
Well a bit distorted really- but then so am I- and its only getting worse each time I look in the mirror.
So knees don't match ankles-forearms long- possibly shins long-
but I don't care.
....because I can

Sketchbook pro symmetry....

Sketchbook scratchings

Back to life

Life drawing at sculptors...
forgot my rubber- (eraser for any americans...sigh)
So couldn't fix I just tried to be loose about it all and suffer the wrongness to exist.

Model actually looked a bit like PJ Harvey- but with brown hair and not as slight. Actually she held pretty still - which is a great help-  ( ie gradually twisting is the thing I don't like)

Gina (with the light brown hair)

Life drawing at sculptors.
The model was Gina (I think).
She'd be a good model if you were doing a bronze sculpture- very much that pert athletic young ideal you see in kind of art deco or art nouveau statues-and strong enough to hold still.

I was sort of sitting there trying to see the shadows on her bottom so I could do the shading-but its all so pert and the her skin so flawless the change of shades so superfine/subtle..... no easy shadows...
ends up looking like a cartoon.

then my mind kept switching to how the skin on my nose was destined for the opposite- to be chopped and operated on and not smooth at all......
Oh well its a week and a half since this life drawing and my nose is done.
Actually caught the flu straight after getting the operation on my nose
-which I can't recommend to anyone.

Sketchbook ideas for a book

Not many sci fi things about global warming/sea level rise....
a few sketchbook thoughts.

"Damn them to hell" planet of the apes-wise.
